By The River

So this reading we are learning to infer our reading. inferring means reading between the lines, I never heard it before but that's why we are learning it. inferring is like the author giving you the information about the story without really telling you like, for example. Daisy is a cow. "how many legs those cows have". So the author gives you information.

Here is the example or picture of the meaning of inferring.

 The assignment that we are given is we have to write inferring and the literal. The literal is like the information is already there. So the story that my group has been given is called "By The River" the story is about a girl who has been with frend with Chloe but they never hang out. so our teacher gave us 5 information of inferring and 5 literal. 

This subject is kinda fun to do because you have to find a lot of information and this make you challenge yourself and this makes you know the story very well, and I like things like this because this challenge me, but it was kinda frustrating because sometimes you won't find the answers thats why we are learning this kind of stuff.

Knowing alot about LADY GAGA!

Hey guys so today I'm learning about famous musicians that we have to search, so we have to pick one or more musicians and we have to search or watch how come they become a famous and great musician. So the musician I picked was Lady Gaga, Lady Gaga real name is Stefani Joanne Angeline Germanotta. She was born in March 1986 and the City she was born was New York City.  When she wasn't Lady Gaga yet, she gets bullied a lot in school. After school, she goes to a boutique where her mum or siblings live next door. She makes friends with the people who worked there. Lady Gaga found her passion when she goes to the boutique shopping, when she shops there she would always sing and one of the guys heard her singing and knew it was a talent and it was a handy connection, the guy who heard Stafani (which is Lady Gaga) his uncle was the legendary vocal coach Don Lawrence. Stefani got Don Lawrence number and give him a call. Lawrence took her and teach her. Everyday Stefani would always practice and Lady Gaga was on the way to fame. Today Lawrence still helps her and he would sometimes be at the biggest performance of Lady Gaga's career, Lawrence thought Lady Gaga to sing the Star-Spangled Banner Lady, Gaga's famous song was Poker Face and it was a good song and you guys might know the song is.     

Captain Cook and learning about Prior Knowledge.

Hey guys, so before I tell what you on what work we are doing about captain cook, however, I have to show you first what kind of work we are working on right now with the story of Captain Cook. So we have to connect the story about "Making Connection to Prior Knowlege" so prior knowledge has 3 different kinds. 1st there is text to self, this is when you read a book about something and this reminds you of something like happened to you. For example: " Jenna's dog ripped her dress now she can't go to the ball, this part reminds me of my ripped dress that broke because of the wooden chair"

The 2nd one is text to world, where you connect two things and it's like you compared them to each other, for example: " This boy wants to be a president when he grows up and build a big wall, this part makes me think of Donald Trump who wants to build his own big wall"

3rd is text to text, this means you have to compare a story to what you are reading. For example: "This book reminds me of Harry Potter because this book has lots of magical things everywhere in the story and this reminds me of it" 

So now since I finished the prior knowledge we are going back at the story of Captain Cook.

First when we didn't read the story of captain cook we have to know what we know about him, so my teacher let us go to our reading groups and write down what we already know about captain cook, we shared lots of ideas and we  put it at the planning sheet so we won't forget what we wrote down. after that, we have to read our book and write down some new things what we know about Captain Cook. The activity we did was really fun because we have to learn new thing about what we still don't know and now I learned a lot.     

Self assessment?!

Hi, guys so I'm going to self asses "The Badge of Honour" this will to learn like finishing your work in time.

Did you complete all the task last week?  Yes, I did and I think I did a really good job. 

What did you do well? I did well finishing the work in time.

What activity challenge you the most? the activity I'm really challenged is to draw the characters because I'm really bad at drawing arms and legs.

What I do about it? I keep working hard and keep challenging myself.

What activity was easiest for me? I think the easiest is where I have to see in the story because I already know what is the fight looks like so I think that was easy.  

What can I extend myself next time? I should draw better and explain better so people would understand.

Beats and Beyond, Finding all about your artist!

Beats and beyond

This hurumanu we are doing music and we called it Beats and Beyond. So our lesson is learning all about the guitar but next time we are about a new instrument like we are learning what is the tuning pegs, sound hole, nylon guitar, steel guitar, whammy bar guitar, capo, dreadnaught guitar, backpackers guitar, and amp.

• steel guitar - is a guitar with a steel string 
• nylon guitar - is a guitar with nylon string
• dreadnaught guitar - is a guitar with a big body
