Hello everyone, in Social studies, we are still looking at sustainable fishing. We are given questions to answer and have to search more about this to know more about this.

How is commercial fishing a threat to dolphins and birdlife?
This is a problem because most commercials are over-fishing and don't tell the buyers because they need money. Most commercials lie because they want to have a good image for people who are buying their product. This is a threat because they over-fish and this wipe other fishes that are endangered.

What is bycatch?
Bycatch is where people accidentally catch something they shouldn’t catch. 

 

Shark Finning | Social studies

Hello everyone, in social studies we are looking at shark finning. Shark finning is where people kill sharks and cut their fins and make them into soup. We are finding more information about it and we have to answer some question that is quite questionable. 

What is it?

Shark finning is something delicacy in china. Shark finning is where people catch sharks and cut off their fins and make them into soup 

Why is this delicacy?

It's because it's expensive and this kind of a show-off how rich they are. This also a traditional thing in China.  

How is this impacting our oceans?

This impacts us by the food chain, if the sharks are gone the other food chain will be wiped off because other fishes will over populate.

Hurumanu 3 - Chaos - Black death

 Hello everyone, this chemical and chaos we are learning about The Black death, but right now we are learning about Fleas and rats. We are asked to make a Basic paragraph about the subject of black death, we have to get a topic about it. Here is the paragraph I made about it.

Basic Body Paragraph. 

Fleas and Rats. The fleas and rats were the problems to have the pandemic about the black death, it

causes a lot of problems around the city that had been hit by the black death. The black death started in

China and pass it through the ships trading routes westward to the Mediterranean. It then reached Rome,

the centre of an elaborate web of trading routes, Florence, Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon and London.

The fleas were very dangerous at that time because the fleas pass the bacteria from the rat to a human. Rats

were a pest and they would always eat human foods. Rats would always eat something they think it’s edible.

Rats go to places that they shouldn’t and that’s how the fleas go to rats and fleas would jump to another rat

or person to get rid of the blood and get another blood from someone or something.

Hello everyone, this Hurumanu 3 we have been working on a timeline about the black death. We have to make the timeline and pick what or when was the chaos. There's no much information about it and it's more like the time and pictures.  Here is the timeline I made. 

Evaporation Experiment

Hello everyone today we are doing evaporation while doing the experiment we are looking at the changes in the water and also see the evaporating basin. The experiment was fun because we used bunsen burner, I had to lit a fire by a lighter. The water was condensing, steaming, boiling and evaporating. At the bottom are the aim, hypothesis and the equipment used. 

Separating a Mixture using Evaporation:

Aim: why you are doing the experiment

To separate a solution into a solvent and solute using evaporation.

Hypothesis: what you think will happen, and why….

I think it will heat up and the copper sulfate will leave some crystal at the sides.

Equipment: Copper sulfate solution, 250mL Beaker, heatproof mat, evaporating basin, element. 

Method: 

1. Set up element

2. Add 100mL of hot water to the beaker and place on the element.

3. Add copper sulfate to the evaporating basin until it is quarter full.

4. Carefully, place the evaporating basin on top of the beaker. 

5. Turn on the element to 3

6. Heat the solution until most of the solvent has been evaporated and crystals of solute are forming. 

7. Turn off the element- be careful not to touch, as it will be hot for a long time.

Observations: What did you see, hear etc when doing the experiment.

The boiling was loud so you could hear the boil of the water and also you can hear the gas.

Conclusion: Was your hypothesis correct?

yes, the crystal stayed and it has some a little bit of kinda glitter.

I enjoyed it because I'm learning something new and I had fun with my group but some people in our group sometimes don't really do anything so I would like to change it.

Dilution

Hello everybody, this chemistry we are experimenting with Serial Dilution. The picture below is the aim and the instruction about our experiment.

• Which was most dilute?  least concentrated 

The most dilute one is the last on because it has been passed and passed until the end and makes it weaker or dilutes more.

• How do you know it's more Dilute and Concentrated? Explain?

I know this because of how transparent or less colour they have meant that it's more diluted. The stronger the colour is mean its more concentrated

Esol - Halloween Project

 Hello everyone, this week we are working on our presentation about the scary myth about our own culture. I had a lot of fun making the short film because my teammates Janel and Shiela made it fun while filming. It was a bit stressful to edit because I don't really know what I would put fo the caption. If we had more time editing it, I would make some changes to the voice-over because it didn't really explain about the lady in white. Here is the video I made with my teammates and I hope you like it.

So if you don't really understand the story I will just explain it to you. The story is mainly about the lady in white, the lady in white usually seen at night and in the morning. The lady in white usually is seen if they need your help or there is something about you that they hate or they are part of your family. Bag making - Textiles

 Hello everyone, this textile we have been working on the bag we are making. I haven't started sewing my bag yet but sooner I will, I only have cut the stakeholder one bag and I'm still working on what would stakeholder would have. 

Stakeholder 2 should have looked like this, but we don't have any materials that are pink and blue.

Stakeholder 1 should look like this and I don't have to change anything, I just have to sew it and put the details on it.

     

Gymnastics - P.E

Hello everyone, this P.E we are doing gymnastics, We learnt how to cartwheel, bear roll, the beam and the trampoline. We take photos of us doing the activities in gymnastics. We got better doing the trampoline and at the mat where you do front roll cartwheel and stuff. I have to practise more on the beam because I'm a bit scared of hight. Hurumanu 3 - Chemistry Mixing and dissolving

 Hello everybody, so today we are learning about Mixing and dissolving, we have to find how who move faster in what temperature. 

What are the ideas from today? The idea for today is to mix and dissolve or to know what temperature to dissolve the sugar first. 

What factors effect dissolving?

Experiment: Aim, method, result

Aim: Rate of dissolving depending on temperature and stirring. 

Method: In this experiment, we have to have 2 beakers one is small and one is big. We also need a spatula to put the sugar in the water and also for mixing. The first one we did was to put the big beaker cold water and this has to be in 50ml, We have to stir it, We also have to time it the same as we put the sugar and stop when the sugar has dissolved. The second one is the same thing but we have to put hot water, it also has to have the same water as the first one and the amount of sugar we put. The third one is the first one but we can't stir it. The fourth one is the same as the second one but we also don't need to stir it.

Total and average time: Coldwater + mixed= (total) 490sec (average) 70sec |  Hot water + mixed=(total)  213sec (average) 27sec | Coldwater + No stirring=(total) 622sec (average) 24.4sec |  Hot water + No stirring= (total) 590sec (average) 98sec

Why the result happened? 

The hot water gives more energy to the particle and moves around more and the cold water make it slower and that's why the cold water is taking a long time to dissolve.

Business & Enterprise

 Hello everyone, so this past week we have been planning business & enterprise, finally its finish. It's not like I didn't enjoy it but I did enjoy it, it was really fun because you see the groups that work really hard on their products. I enjoy it's because my team work really hard to sell our product and also work on our products.  

This picture was not our product I was included because I was kinda advertising and also buying one of their product. I was laughing because I was making a joke about the pillow I was holding.

The first week of business and enterprise was about what are we gonna sell and who will be in our group, at first it was hard to decide what are we gonna sell and also we already made a group it was Lyan, Jolly Rose, Aili and I. 

The second week of business and enterprise is where we know our products and we have to write a business letter to Mr Scott so he can allow us to make our product and also buy our product. There is also  some people come to school who is  a expert of doing business. 

The third week was where we had planned all and do the maths for our financial and also finishing our poster and confiming the letter to Mr Scott.

The fourth week is where we finishing planning the things and also doing our product which is coffee jelly and also leche flan. 

We sell alot and it was also fun to market and I really enjoy, I hopefully we could do this next year and it would be fun to see people buying other peoples product. I hope you guys have nice day! and stay safe.  

Stop motion - Convection

 Hello everyone, this science we are learning about matter. We have to make a stop motion that explain the topic we picked. We have to pick one of the energy which is expanding, contract, convection and conduction. We picked convection, and we have to explain how does convection works. I hope this makes sense and I hope you like it.

SEXXXY Paragraph

In this angle, you could see that the Other Mother is trying to lecture Coraline and the angle is close up. We see this when you see more expression and detailed of the character. This makes us understand the character facial expression and what will you feel looking at the character. This was done to make the audience know that the Other mother is just tricking Coraline to stay at the fake world and knowing her real form. This work well in the film when you want to see the whole expression of the character. This reminds me of my mum telling me off not cleaning my room.

In this, you can see that Coraline is holding weird greenstone. The angle is Extreme close up where you see the characters hand and whats it holding. This shows us what is Coraline holding.

Coraline - Looks can be deceiving

• Theme and Idea - contains idea/ subject that links throughout the text
• looks can be deceiving - don't judge a book by its cover - don't judge by appearance 

Example 1: character of wybie - when we first meet him he sense scary ( mask, motorbike, use of high angle to look bigger, loud music)  but in reality, he's just a weird neighbour.


Shows theme because like other characters, our first impression based on the appearance, tone, visual techniques aren´t always correct

Important because it helps the audience understand with Coraline that just because something looks good doesn't mean it is she should close the real world over the other world.   

Example 2: Character of the Other Mother - she seems normal/ friendly at the short but by the end becomes a soul-devouring spider demon.

Shows theme because like ¨Other Mother¨ isn't what she appears to be at the start so we shouldn´t judge by the first impression.

Important because Coraline realises that having something that looks perfect isn't always a good thing.

S-  Statement: In Coraline, the theme ¨ looks can be deceiving¨ is used effectively to engage the audience. 
Evidence: For instance, the character of the ¨Other mother¨ shows us that looks can e deceiving because she starts off with a kind mother figure but gradually changes into a soul-devouring demon.
eXplanation audience: this makes us understand, that we shouldn´t judge a character based on the first impression as they can often be wrong.
eXplanation director: This is done to help Coraline decide between the real world and the other world. if the other mother was really perfect Coraline wouldn´t choose to go home. 
eXplanation another techniques(shots, angles, music, setting, lighting, colour): Combine with this is the use of the colour and lighting. The ¨Other Mother¨ first appears in a vibrating bright from that makes us feel warm and safe. however, by the end, it has became dark and green which makes the viewer feel scared and shows that her first look was deceiving.
Your link: this can be juxtaposed to the character of Wybie who we think at first is evil but its actually kind, proving looks can be deceiving.

Philippines independence day!

Magandang Umaga, Magandang hapon at Magandang gabi sa inyong lahat (good morning, good afternoon and good evening all) so upcoming June 12th there will be Filipino independence day, all the Filipinos are celebrating being free from the Spanish colony. Here are some facts about the Philippines or the Filipino.

• The Philippines has 180 languages and the main language spoke in English and Tagalog.
• Filipino loves spending time in the kitchen to cook and bake.
• our national bird is Philippine eagle.  
• our national dessert is Ube Halaya.
•  we sing our national anthem every morning at school, with respect, and put your right hand right at your heart. 
• we respect our elderly by saying po, opo, and mano which takes their right hand and puts it in your forehead.
  
• In the afternoon we buy our own food/ ask our parents for money and we called this meryenda.

My Definiton.

Hello guys, so this term we are working on a new subject called "inside and out", inside and out is science and english subject and yeah, so the thing we are working on is the definition of film technique which is like lighting, background and more. So we have to identify the meaning of the techniques but in our own words.And here is my definition of the work we have to do.

Body language- Used to tell action or feelings of the character.

Costume- Costume is a design that stylish or the creator had made for the character and they make it based on the character appearance or personality.

Hairstyles - also same as the costume they design it based on the character appearance and personality.

Makeup- can change/ transform the actor based on the character she or his playing.

Colour- can change the mood of the scene.

Lighting- can also change the mood of the scene and sometimes makes the character standout. 

Props- can make the scene realistic.

Settings- can often progress a story or stories and can describe the surrounding.

Dialogue- can elevate the plot or reveal something about the character.

Sound effect- can make the mood for the audience or describe the scene.

Music- music is the same as sound effect but its longer than the sound effect and this can change the mood.

Silence- used to make you scared/anxious or make it into a serious plot.

Symbol- often a subject or suggest new idea/ways

Special FX- can make the the story more realistic.

Describing My Idol..?

Hello everybody so I should have posted this already but  I didn't know what to say so here I am doing it. So the thing we have to do was not that hard but I can't think of anything that to say.  It's like "she is very shy", "she is very kind" and yeah I have to write that so I was thinking to write it about my Idol or a boy band named "Seventeen".  Seventeen is very amazing, Seventeen are a hard worker, Seventeen is nice, Seventeen is talented and lastly, Seventeen is charming.

My CoOkInG.....

Hello guys, well you can see at the title is about my cooking, well yes it is and I was about to tell you how I made it but then I forgot every step that I make...the food was so delicious but it will be better if there's rice but apparently the rice was not cooked and I can't really wait for the rice and I have no patience at all so I ate all of it and it was tasty, I was proud of my cooking skills but I'm sorry for not telling you the steps. The food I made was like omelet and the food I cooked was my little experiment and yeah, I hope you have a nice quarantine!

My Quarantine time

Hello guys, so this quarantine time I have been doing loads of stuff with myself and my family but they are quite boring because we just do our own thing like we watch youtube netflix and on my free time I do my homework, watch anime, kpop....and more..well they are not entertaining at all to talk about because I lay down at my bed and watch them. I know that I'm not a intresting person thats why, oh and this quarantine time I've been annoying my friends at messenger because I was bored and I need someome to talk to. Well thats all...I know it was short but I'll try to add more when I think something like if I should write a story or a song. Well I'll try posting my writing if I made one, anyways had a fun quarantine time unlike me.
