Balloon chemistry

Aim: To see which chemical

Image result for baking soda balloons
mix creates the most gas

Hypothesis: (What do I think will happen)

I think vinegar and baking soda will be the biggest one to grow than the yeast sugar and soda salt.

Materials:

  1. ballon
  2.  bottle
  3.  yeast
  4. sugar
  5.  soda
  6.  salt
  7.  baking soda
  8. vinegar
Steps:
  1.  get the bottle
  2.  get the ballon
  3.  get the funnel
  4.  the teacher will get materials like yeast, sugar, soda, vinegar, salt, and baking soda

Findings:
the vinegar was very fast to grow and the others were too slow to grow because  Yeast needs sugar to produce carbon dioxide -the leavening gas that causes the dough to rise and the others have their own problems.

Balloon 1
( 3 tsp baking soda, ½ cup vinegar)
Balloon 2
( 3 tsp salt, ½ cup soda)
Balloon 3
( 2 tsp yeast, 1 tsp sugar )
Balloon Size (cm)
10.6 cm5.1 cm5.5cm
Bubbles
medium amount of bubblesa small amount of bubblesa large amount of bubbles

Conclusion:

the baking soda and vinegar The reaction creates carbon dioxide gas that bubbles up from the mixture. The gas expands up and out of the bottle and inflates the balloon. ... Gently stretch the opening of the balloon over the opening of the bottle. This experiment was super fun because it's easy to do and it's not that dangerous to do it at home. The expierements we do is pretty easy to do but it have some strong smell so that's interesting this is a lot of fun so try and make it but you may need a parent to help you up.

Expirement

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Definition: Chromatography is a method of separating out materials from a mixture.
Eg. blood, ink, drugs,

Scenario
A crime has been committed. The police have a signed cheque and a letter from the same crime scene but it seems like the handwriting is different. They have 3 suspects but not enough evidence. They need to know if the letter and the cheque were written by the same person.

How do they tell if the pens used for both of these pieces of evidence are the same?

Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. paper
2. cup
3. two colouring pen
4. water
5. pencil
6. ruler

Process:

Step 1: get the materials like paper, pen ruler, colouring pen
Step 2: put a line on the paper
Step 3:put the medium dot by colouring pen at the paper
Step 4:put the paper in the cup
Step 5:the teacher put the a water in the cup
Step 6:and then wait, then boom you have a rainbow paper.

Conclusion: What have I learnt from this experiment?

I learned that Police people use this to do their invistegasion stuff and thanks to Mr palmer we learned how to do this expieremence even your at home and you wanted to try this you could use this steps easily.

Home chemistry

Aim: To learn the names of 10 household chemicals and identify if they are a solid, liquid or a gas.

Definitions:

  1. Element; A single form of a chemical
  2. Compound: A mixture made up of 2 or more elements
  3. Reaction: A process in which chemicals mix together to form a new substance.
  4. Mixture: When two or more elements are mixed together.

Equipment:

  1.  lemon juice
  2. salt
  3. sugar
  4. vinegar
  5. lemonade bubbles
  6. onion gas
  7.   baking soda
  8.   milk
  9.   corn flour/ corn starch
  10.  banana
Steps:

1. name the chemical.
2. research.
3.put the name of the chemical at the chart.
4.write what did you learn and see.

Repeat the steps for all the chemicals.

Task 1: Put the 10 chemicals in a chart with the titles - Name, Chemical ingredient(s), Image, Solid/Liquid/Gas.

CONCLUSION: ( WHAT DID YOU LEARN OR SEE)

This Tuesday, April 2, 2019, we are doing a research about chemical foods names the chemical we saw the Aim of it was to finish naming the chemical that was written at the board by Mr. Palmer and here an example about what we did and research
for example:
name               chemical          picture/image        is it Liquid / Solid or Gas
lemonade         citric acid          ????????                          Liquid
and here was the definition I get from the name of the food or drink (or you could look at the chart to look at the names and what food we research or what chemical is it )  and it was...
  • Citric acid
  • Sodium Chloride
  • Glucose
  • Ethanoic acid
  • carbon dioxide
  • syn-Propanethial-S-oxide
  • Sodium bicarbonate
  • Magnesium Hydroxide
  • Amylum
  • Isoamyl acetate

The things we research was fun to search and hard at the same time because the chemical we were searching was tough to search and one of them is because there are so many words and numbers that you can’t even explain.  After researching we then have to put if this is liquid/ Gas or Solid.

story boards for stop motion

What advice were you given?
the advice they give was "I like how you put lots of info in this. it makes me remember about my grandmother, maybe you could finish your storyboard story." so the advice was helpful and positive, if we could finish our animation I would listen to there advice and some peoples advice what could be helpful to our storyboard. So our story is about that every single person can die even your grandmother and mother, the story is about that the world spins and everyday people can die every single hour minute second and every single day so me and my team planned a sad story about this. The art we did is not finish and I can't take photo so I have to barrow my team's picture.
