Particle theory: is a particle that changes properties in different states of matter.
- all matter is made up of particles
- all particles is a pure substances are the same
- There is space between all particles
- particles are always moving
- there are attractive forces between particles
- temperature affects the speed at which particles move
Aim: We are investigating the effect of the temperature on rate of diffusion.
Hypothesis: I think that hot water will diffuse faster than the cold water, because heat gives more energy to spread out more than cold.
Method:
- put warm water and cold water into the same cylinder size and width.
- Get some KMn04 (Potassium Permanganate)
- Put the KMn04 (Potassium Permanganate) in the water which is the warm and the cold water and they should have the same amount.
Conclusion:
In the end the KMn04 (Potassium Permanganate) spread faster at warm water, Its because the warm water have more energy. This also because the particle is moving fast.
